Therapy

I offer individual and couple psychotherapy for older teens and adults.  I work from a combination of theories including self-psychology, systems theory and cognitive therapy, and use these techniques in working with individuals with mood and anxiety disorders as well as a range of other issues, including relationship problems and chronic illness.

Because I have an addictions background, I work with many patients who are also in recovery from substance abuse as well as with family members of those who are struggling with or in recovery from substance abuse.  Most of my work with couples involves at least one partner who is in recovery

Early training in child development, as well as work in the field of attention deficit disorder, has resulted in my working with many adults on parenting issues.

Finally, I have a special interest in working with individuals who are coping with chronic illnesses such as multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis.  Because many of these individuals are on disability, I do accept Medicare reimbursement.
